HIHOITOD isn't just a restaurant; it's a taste of home, a culinary memory brought to life. It’s the memory of a sizzling hot pan, the irresistible aroma wafting from a street-side stall, and the simple joy of Thailand’s most beloved comfort foods: the crispy mussel omelette, Hoi Tod.
We’re a group of Thais living in Toronto who share a deep passion for the vibrant street food culture of our homeland. For years, we searched for that authentic, crispy, and satisfying Hoi Tod we grew up loving, but something was always missing. That search sparked an idea: "If we can't find the perfect Hoi Tod, why don't we make it ourselves?"
And so, HIHOITOD was born.
What Makes Our Hoi Tod Special?
We're obsessed with getting every detail just right. We call it "The HIHOITOD Difference":
The Perfect Crunch: Our proprietary batter recipe is the secret to a light, incredibly crispy omelette that’s never greasy. It’s crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.
Fresh From The Sea: We use only the freshest, plumpest mussels (or oysters), ensuring every bite is packed with flavour.
That Secret Sauce: Forget generic sauces. Our signature sweet and spicy dipping sauce is made in-house from a secret family recipe. It’s the perfect complement to the savoury crisp of the Hoi Tod.
The Real Deal: Every dish is cooked to order on a traditional large flat-top griddle, just like you’d find on the streets of Bangkok.
